Polymer of propylene
The most common polymer of propylene is polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, which is widely used in manufacturing industries due to its versatile nature. Household appliances, packaging, furniture, vehicles and medical equipment all require PP. The versatile nature of PP largely explains the products popularity, with it accounting for 21.2% of industry revenue. It is derived from propylene, a flammable gas derived from petroleum hydrocarbon cracking. This segment's share of revenue has fallen slightly as a share of revenue over the past five years.
