The Juice Production industry involves the production of fruit and vegetable juice and juice concentrates. Fruit juice is defined by the Fruit Juices and Fruit Nectars Regulations as a product that is 100% fruit juice. Vegetable juice is a product that is 100% vegetable juice. The industry also includes blends of fruit and vegetable juices. In general, the only components of the fruit that are intentionally removed in the production process are the insoluble pulp, skin and seeds. Both establishments and enterprise numbers are projected to remain relatively steady over the period. Health awareness and government efforts to encourage healthy living are expected to play an important role in stimulating demand for the industry's products.
