The Iron Casting industry is estimated to be in the decline stage of its life cycle. Industry value added is expected to fall at a compound annual rate of 2.5% over the decade through 2021-22. Over the same period the UK economy is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 2.3%. This shows that the industry's contribution to the UK economy is forecast to decline over the 10-year period.
The domestic industry remains relatively small by world standards and revenue is expected to continue to contract.
