Football clubs dominate the industry, accounting for an estimated combined total of 40% of industry revenue in 2011-12. The English Premier League (EPL) receives revenue from TV broadcasting, with some of this money provided to the 20 clubs. Membership numbers are also high for many EPL clubs, with most home games almost selling-out each week. In addition, when clubs do well in European competitions, this can contribute to club revenue.
