The activities undertaken by contractors in the industry include earth-moving, excavation, ground de-watering, land clearing, levelling and grading, removal of overburden, trench digging and foundation drilling. About two-thirds of industry revenue is derived from the provision of general site preparation services including earth-moving, excavation, land clearing and trench digging.
